Promoting mental well-being and good mental health have been a long-term passion for me having had a background as a manager in the voluntary sector working both in the areas of mental health and homelessness for about 10 years in London and Hampshire. Whilst working in the voluntary sector I was trained in alcohol counselling and as a facilitator for the Pacific Institute's community based cognitive behavioural programme 'STEPS' ™ (Steps to Excellence for Personal Success). Studying hypnotherapy and becoming a fully qualified, GHR and NHSTA Directory registered, hypnotherapist was a natural progression. I have built on earlier degree level studies in Social Anthropology and Psychology at Goldsmith's College along with my vocational interests and gained GHSc recognised qualifications to be able to provide a highly knowledgeable and professional service to my clients that are usually based in South Hampshire or Weybridge, Surrey. There are certain issues such as pain management, IBS and reactive depression where a client should discuss the use of hypnotherapy with their GP first. My training was undertaken with the highly respected Brief Strategic Therapy & Clinical Hypnosis Foundation in London, achieving a Distinction with Merit in my Diploma, that was externally examined by the United Kingdom Clinical and Strategic Hypnosis Examination Board and is validated by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSc). I am a member of the NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners (No. 6578). I keep my charges reasonable for Hampshire (£50 p.h.) as I work from home, therefore you are not paying for business rates and office rent etc. Professional qualifications include being a Member of the Society of Brief Strategic hypnoTherapists (MSBST, used to be BCSHA), registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register with a General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice and am a fully insured practitioner of Hypnotherapy and Smoking Cessation Therapy; being bound by the ethics and codes of conduct of both the SBST and the GHR. I am a graduate with an Upper Second B.Sc. (Hons) and am based in the hamlet of Curbridge which is midway between Botley and Burridge in South Hampshire, convenient for Locks Heath, Whiteley, Bishops Waltham and Wickham. My professional fees are £50 per hour
